Originality Is The Key Word

In whatever action the Persaturan Sejarah Malaysia Cawangan Sabah takes, there must be originality in its work. Reproduction of articles should be avoided as they already record the events, places, buildings and stories and need not be repeated though reproduction. Reference to such articles and publications is acceptable.

There Has To Be No Duplication Of Functions And Actitivies

Persatuan Sejarah Malaysia Cawangan Sabah has to ensure that there is no duplication in its work, functions and activities with the other organcies particularly the Government Department like the Muzium and the Ministries concerned; Ministry of Information, Culture and Heritage as well as the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah.

The Association will be the 'ginger group' in as far as history, culture, customs, traditions, language are concerned.

Persatuan Sejarah Malaysia Cawangan Sabah Objectives

1. Create interests on a broader objective towards History,Cuture and Customs of the people in Malaysia and the other territories
2. Promote the safeguards of artifacts, structures and area that has historial, cultural and places interests
3. Helps in the research and storage of records of history, stories, legends and mythos, tradition, dialects and customs of the people and the territories.
4. Publish a bulletin and other publications on history and related matters.

35 Years Of Age

Persatuan Sejarah Malaysia Cawangan Sabah is more than 35 years old. The Association was established on 29 March 1973, and Sabah State is 45 years old after independence on 16 September 1963.

Sabah has achieved much, but on the other hand what has Persatuan Sejarah Malaysia Cawangan Sabah achieved after 35 years? The new Committee which was elected on July 26,2009 will have to look into this aspect and how the Association can be revamped and transformed into an Association that the members can be proud of to be associated with.

Some of the other Associations already have their own building like SABATA, ST JOHN AMBULANCE, RED CROSS, BOY SCOUT, SABAH LAW ASSOCIATION, MPWS (Majlis Penasihat Wanita Sabah),and many others. But Persatuan Sejarah Malaysia Sabah does not yet have its own premise and should strive to have one sooner or later. The Association can then carry on with its activities effeciently and effectively at its own premise. This is going to be the challenge for the new Commitee.

History From My Place

Journal In History

Fund Raising

What can you do with a meagre RM1,050.00 balance in the bank? The new Committee will have to work hard to get additional funds so that the Association can carry on with the activities.

Members Go Through The Reports

The Secretary and Treasurer presented their reports for the years 2007-2009 which were subsequently accepted.

100 Days KPI

What can you do in 100 days for Persatuan Sejarah Malaysia Cawangan Sabah?. I would only think of the following activities considering the Fasting Month of Ramadan which starts on August 18,2009 and the Hari Raya which is on September 18, 2009;

1. Update on members register book and include their email addresses2. Make a Blog for Persatuan Sejarah Malaysia Cawangan Sabah3. Refresh the new Committee members with the association constitution4. Appointment of the 2 members to be the internal Auditors
5. Check on the funds that the Association can tap including PSM national body
6. Fund raising activities
7. Deliberate the paper prepared by a member, Dr Hj Chacho Hj Bulah
8. Work on at least one historical project and document the project
